Home Sellers, The biggest mistake a homeowner can make when interviewing agents is that they end up playing “Blind Archery”

You see, when a company decides to hire someone for an important job, they have a pre-determined set of questions… a set of criteria that they will use to judge the people they interview.  In fact, they know in advance what they are looking for and they use reason and logic when they hire… not emotions.

Now, you are hiring someone to do a very important job, in nearly every case, you are putting them in charge of selling your biggest asset and investment, your house and you should NOT play blind archery because you could be leaving tens of thousands of dollars on the table if you chose the wrong or ill equipped agent.

You need to know in advance, the kind of agent you want AND the things that are the most important to you such as price, or closing date or a smooth transaction if you need to buy a house and sell your home.

And finally, you need to ask them some very smart questions which most agents will be hesitant to answer… Here are a 10 to consider:

  1. What makes you different and why should I list with you!

  2. How long have you been an active full time real estate agent

  3. What are Your Marketing Plans

  4. What CRM or database are you using and is it connected to your website

  5. What is your social media marketing strategy and what is your budget

  6. Are You working with a Team and how many are licenced or by yourself

  7. Does Your Broker Control Your Advertising or do you and what is your budget?

  8. On Average, when your listings sell, how close is the selling price to the asking price and how many days do your listings stay on the market?

  9. How Many Buyers are you Working With and are in your database

  10. And finally, what happens if I’m not happy with the job you are doing to get my home sold… Can I get out of the contract?
